Job Description Summary

The LaSalle House Cook is responsible to the (elected) Brother Director of LaSalle House for all duties associated with the proper and timely completion of high quality meals for the LaSalle House Staff. In addition, the LaSalle House Cook/Manager supervises the food service staff; prepares menu items; orders food; oversees the proper storage of food inventories and coordinates all sanitation and maintenance of the kitchen.

Responsibilities

Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
- Monitor food inventories and order food products from suppliers
-Oversee the proper storage of food items (i.e. temperatures, stock rotation, etc).
-Oversee the sanitation and maintenance of the LaSalle House kitchen.
-Prepare meals one shift per week. In coordination with the Brother Director, discuss food menus, the amount of food to be produced in accordance to the number served, special dietary needs of the ill and elderly, special event preparations, etc. ’

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of three years’ successful food service preparation experience including breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items, and must have knowledge and experience with food service sanitation.
