Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

Assist the staff of the Lewis University Army ROTC program with various administrative functions related to recruitment, enrollment, and academics, along with coordination and implementation of special projects, activities, and events in support of the program. The Graduate Assistant will function as the front-line contact for all students and inquiries.

Responsibilities

Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University’s Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education.

-Promote Lewis University and Army ROTC to potential freshman and transfer students; assist with campus and community recruiting events, and meet with walk-in prospective cadets and parents as needed.
-Design and distribute promotional material for Lewis Army ROTC -Assist Scholarship Enrollment Officer in cadet scholarship process and coordinate initial enrollment paperwork
-Collaborate with Cadet and academic adviser to formulate a four-year academic plan
-Conduct bi-annual degree audits to track academic progress and identify at-risk Cadets; promote campus resources to ensure academic success
-Create official memorandums for purchasing, reimbursement, housing, and academic counseling
-Maintain digital and paper filing systems -Serve as central point for inter-departmental communication and act as program representative in meetings as needed
-Coordinate and assist with special events as required
-Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Must be a graduate student in good standing in a degree or certification program at Lewis University. Must possess solid analytic, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Must possess strong computer skills in Excel with attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines.
