Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

Full-time, tenure track teaching position in Aviation Maintenance.

Responsibilities

Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, and respectful collaboration and active support of the University’s Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.

-Teaching a total of 12 credit hours per semester at the undergraduate level.
-Candidate will advise undergraduate students on program progression and on academic success. The candidate will also advise undergraduate students on professional development.
-Will conduct teaching and scholarship activities at the undergraduate level.
-Actively participate in department meetings, student advising, scholarly pursuits, and other duties as assigned by the Department Chairs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in aviation or related field. Extensive experience in aviation system’s within corporate or airline aviation maintenance programs. Candidate must be able to stay abreast of current industry trends and developing aerospace technologies. Candidate must also possess FAA certification’s including an FAA aviation maintenance technician certificate. Required to gain Lewis University certification and online training utilizing the Blackboard technology delivery system.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidate should have advanced avionics skills, a background in safety management systems, safe shop and aircraft maintenance practices. It is critical that the candidate model the safe operation of highly technical equipment within a laboratory environment.
